Who and What is Arkanem?Arkanem is purely a brand name, owned and run solely by Annie Nicholas. Annie spent many years in Sales and Marketing and now semi-retired concentrates on painting and writing. Annie's first novel Dash! was published in 2009. A free and entreprenurial spirit, Annie is also involved in many projects where she is able to use all her talents and skills.
Under the banner of Arkanem, Annie produces original paintings, images and offers all her customers the very best digitally reproduced prints on fine stretcher canvas, flat canvas and high quality paper prints.
All prints are run on an order only basis, purchased by you submitting an email enquiry, request or order direct to Arkanem through this website and which will then be delivered to your door or a specified delivery address.
How do I place an order?
Whilst browsing through The Works select and click on the picture you would like. This will take you to a dedicated specification page, where you can view the picture in more detail and see the options available to you. Then by clicking the "Contact Arkanem" button located on the dedicated page, you will be taken through to the "Contact Us" page, that will automatically drop the picture you are interested in, in the subject box. Simply enter your details and any message and Annie will contact you within 24hours.
What payment methods do Arkanem accept?
Specific arrangements can be made to suit you, but primarily payment by Cheque, Paypal or cash.
Full details and instructions on how to pay will be confirmed on agreement of all the terms in the first response email from Arkanem detailing your request. Payment must then be sent, and confirmation of payment will be in your order confirmation email.
Can I deliver to a different address for a friend?
Yes, Arkanem can deliver to any address that you specify.
What is an order confirmation and a despatch confirmation?
After contacting Arkanem and all the terms are agreed, Annie will email you detailing your request and confirm price/amount due. Once payment has been cleared you will receive your order confirmation email that clearly shows all the elements of your request. This will be followed by an email despatch confirmation, that will give you a delivery/consignment number, to allow you to track your order status.
How will my picture be packed?
Stretcher framed canvas prints will be bubble wrapped, and within a craft corrugated well sealed outer box or in some cases i.e. for particularly large pictures or overseas, in a strong wooden crate box. All other prints will be carefully rolled and inserted into a sealed heavy weight tube.
Is my picture insured during carriage?
Yes, all goods that are despatched direct to you are fully insured. Should your package arrive obviously damaged in any way you should not accept delivery; or on opening your package you are not satisfied with your picture, Arkanem will replace or refund any items you have purchased that you are not happy with, subject to terms and conditions.
How long will my delivery take?
Where possible Arkanem will endeavour to get your picture to you as quickly as possible, which should not take any longer than 10 - 14 working days from Arkanem sending you confirmation of your order. Please note this time frame is not from the first enquiry, it is from the Arkanem confirmation order email, so allow enough time.
What if I am not in when my package is delivered?
The carrier will leave a delivery note at the delivery address that will state the date and time the delivery was attempted. This note will carry instructions on how to have your order re-delivered, or how to arrange collection.
How long would it take to receive a refund or replacement?
Arkanem will endeavour at all times to ensure you receive your replacement or refund within 14 working days of receiving the return in it's original saleable condition, and will notify you of receipt of the returned product and confirmation of the reimbursement via email.
What is a Specific Request?
A Specific Request is exactly that, a request for an original picture, image or print, specifically for you that may be your own idea, vision, type, style, etc. A full brief will be taken, followed by a confirmation of request, which will then require your written acceptance, then produced, followed by confirmation of order and then your picture/request will be sent directly to you.
However, the sole ownership of the image will belong to Arkanem, that is Arkanem own the copyright and all rights to the commercial use. Generally a Specific Request will be cheaper option than a Commission.
What is a Commission?
A commission is similar to a Specific Request in terms of approaching Arkanem to produce a picture or product for you. The only difference is that the copyright for any Commissioned work will be solely owned by you, and Arkanem will have no rights whatsoever over the finished Commissioned work as all rights and commercial rights become the property of the purchaser/customer.
